Saudi exit re-entry visa fees, explained

Every Iqama holder who leaves Saudi Arabia and plans to come back needs an exit re-entry visa. The price has two parts: a flat base fee that buys a set number of months, and a per-month charge for any time beyond that. A single exit re-entry visa costs SAR 200 and covers up to 2 months outside the Kingdom. Stay away longer and each extra month adds SAR 100, so 3 months costs SAR 300 and 6 months costs SAR 600. A multiple exit re-entry visa costs SAR 500 for up to 3 months, then SAR 200 per extra month, so 6 months costs SAR 1,100 and a full year costs SAR 2,300. There is no family rate and no child discount. Each traveller pays the full schedule, which is why a worker travelling with a spouse and two children on 2-month single visas pays SAR 800, not SAR 200.

Two rules catch people out. First, the fee is billed in whole months of days: 1 to 30 days away counts as 1 month, 31 to 60 days counts as 2 months. A 35-day annual leave on a single visa therefore costs SAR 200, since 2 months are already included in the base fee, but a 65-day trip bills as 3 months and costs SAR 300. Second, the visa length is capped by your Iqama. Jawazat will not issue a visa that runs past the Iqama expiry date, so renew the Iqama first if it expires mid-trip. You must also actually travel within 3 months of the visa being issued, and any outstanding dependent levy has to be settled before a dependent's visa can be issued.

Single or multiple?

For one planned trip, single is cheaper at every duration. Multiple earns its price when you expect 2 or more trips inside the period, or when plans change often: business travel across the Gulf, family emergencies, a child studying abroad. Compare a 6-month multiple at SAR 1,100 against two separate 3-month singles at SAR 300 each way if the second trip is short.

No refunds, and extensions cost double

Jawazat has confirmed the fee is gone once paid, even if you cancel the visa before travelling. Choose the duration carefully. If you are already outside the Kingdom and need more time, extending from abroad costs double the normal monthly rate: SAR 200 per month for a single visa and SAR 400 per month for a multiple.

How payment works

The fee is paid before the visa exists. Pay through SADAD government payments in your bank app or internet banking, under Ministry of Interior exit re-entry visa fees, for each Iqama separately. Once the payment shows in Absher, the worker applies in Absher Individuals, the employer applies in Absher Business or Muqeem, and the head of family applies for dependents in Absher. The visa is issued electronically; there is no sticker and nothing to collect.

How to use this calculator

  1. Pick single or multiple, based on how many trips you expect.
  2. Enter the trip length in months, or switch to days and let the calculator apply the whole-month billing rule.
  3. Add every traveller: workers in one box, dependents in the other.
  4. Read the per-person breakdown and the family total, then cross-check the amount in Absher before you pay via SADAD.
