What We Check

When you paste a URL, we fetch its HTML and extract every Open Graph tag, Twitter Card tag, and standard meta tag. Then we simulate exactly how each major platform renders your link — the image, title, and description that users actually see.

We also score your tags and flag common issues: missing og:image, titles that are too long or too short, descriptions that exceed platform limits, and missing Twitter Card declarations.

Preview Image

We check og:image and twitter:image. Recommended: 1200×630 px. Missing images leave an empty placeholder on every platform.

Title Length

Facebook and LinkedIn truncate at ~60 characters. We flag titles that are too short (<10) or too long (>70) for optimal display.

Description

We check og:description and meta description. Optimal: 120–160 characters. We surface missing or overly long descriptions.

Open Graph Tags

Checks for og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type, og:site_name, and og:locale.

X / Twitter Tags

Validates twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, and twitter:image for rich link cards in tweets and DMs.

Platform Previews

Visual mock-ups of Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, iMessage, and WhatsApp so you see exactly what users will see.

Frequently Asked Questions

Open Graph (OG) tags are meta tags you add to your HTML <head> section. They control how your URL appears when shared on social platforms. The key ones are og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url.
Each platform caches previews independently and may have different truncation limits. Facebook reads og:image at 1200×630 px. LinkedIn accepts the same but may cache aggressively. X (Twitter) uses twitter:card tags when present, falling back to OG.
For Facebook, use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to clear the cache. For LinkedIn, use the LinkedIn Post Inspector. For X, post a new tweet — X re-fetches cards on each tweet.
1200×630 pixels (1.91:1 ratio) is the universal safe size. Facebook and LinkedIn display this at full width. Slack and iMessage crop to square thumbnails from the center.
No. This tool fetches raw HTML only, so it reads tags as crawlers do. If your og:tags are injected by JavaScript after page load, they will not be detected here. Use server-side rendering for social tags.
No. URLs are only used to fetch the page and extract tags in real time. Nothing is stored on our servers.
