Make PNGs That Change With the Background
Upload an image and turn it into a 'disappearing' PNG — one picture that reveals a hidden image or message when viewed on a dark background versus a light one.
Try the built-in effect presets (mosaic, fade, wipe, countdown, and more), preview on both backgrounds, and download the result. Everything is generated locally in your browser.
Effect presets
One-click presets create mosaic, fade, wipe, and countdown effects — or tune the settings manually.
Dark/light preview
Preview exactly how the PNG looks on dark and light backgrounds before downloading.
How the trick works
The effect exploits how semi-transparent pixels blend with the background — the same PNG data renders differently on dark versus light surfaces. It is pure image math, done on a canvas in your browser.
How to use
- Upload your image.
- Pick an effect preset (or adjust manually).
- Preview on dark and light backgrounds, then download the PNG.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the image look different on dark backgrounds?
Semi-transparent pixels blend with whatever is behind them — the effect tunes the alpha channel so the blend reveals different content on dark versus light backgrounds.
Where do disappearing PNGs work?
Anywhere the background behind the image changes — chat apps with dark/light themes, websites, and social posts.
Can I add my own text or image?
Yes. Upload any image and the effect is applied to it; presets give you quick starting points.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Generation happens entirely in your browser.
Is the tool free?
Yes, free with no signup.
