Tap the counter on a dua as you recite it. Counts are kept on this device only, in your browser, and reset when you clear the page data. A dua with a repeat count needs all its taps before it counts as done. Sources are shown on every card: where a grading is debated among scholars, the card names the collection, not a grade, so you can check it yourself.

All praise is for Allah who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things capable. All praise is for Allah, glory be to Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might or power except with Allah.

Ayat al-Kursi before sleep

Source: Quran 2:255; Sahih al-Bukhari 2311

Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Most Great.

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so have the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His angels, His books and His messengers, saying: We make no distinction between any of His messengers. And they say: We hear and we obey. We seek Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return. Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear. It will have the reward of what it earned, and it will bear the consequence of what it earned. Our Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or err. Our Lord, do not lay upon us a burden like the one You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Protector, so help us against the disbelieving people.

What Hisn al-Muslim is, and what this page is not

Hisn al-Muslim, usually translated as Fortress of the Muslim, is a small book of supplications and remembrances drawn from the Quran and the hadith collections. Sa'id ibn Ali ibn Wahf al-Qahtani compiled it and it first appeared in 1988. It is arranged by occasion: waking, sleeping, eating, travelling, entering a house, distress, and dozens more. The book has 132 chapters, and a pocket edition runs to about 110 pages, which is why it became the book many Muslims carry daily.

This page is a browser for a selection of that book, not a copy of it. It holds 24 duas across 11 everyday categories, each with the Arabic text, a transliteration for readers still learning the script, a plain English translation, and the source as cited in the book. If you want the full 132 chapters, including the morning and evening adhkar set, buy a printed copy: the morning and evening set alone is covered on the companion daily adhkar page.

Search by moment, not by chapter number

Nobody remembers chapter numbers. The search looks through the title, the category, the transliteration and the translation, so typing sleep, travel, parents or forgiveness finds the dua for that moment in one step.

Every source named on the card

Each card names its collection and number: Sahih al-Bukhari 6312 for waking, 6324 for sleep, Sahih Muslim 1342 for travel, Sunan Abi Dawud 5095 for leaving home. If a reference looks wrong to you, check it against the printed book and tell us: a dua page earns trust by showing its sources, not by hiding them.

How to use this page

  1. Pick a category, or search for the moment you are in.
  2. Read the Arabic if you can, or follow the transliteration while you learn it.
  3. Tap the counter as you recite. The progress bar shows how many of the 24 you have covered today.
  4. For the full book, including all 132 chapters, get a printed copy of Hisn al-Muslim.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The book has 132 chapters. This page gives a selection of 24 of its best-known duas, with Arabic, transliteration, translation and source on each card. It is meant for daily use in the browser, not as a replacement for the printed book.
Sa'id ibn Ali ibn Wahf al-Qahtani, a Saudi scholar, compiled it from the Quran and the hadith collections. It was first published in 1988 and has since been translated into dozens of languages.
Yes. Each card shows the collection and number as cited for that dua, for example Sahih al-Bukhari 6312 for the waking dua and Sahih Muslim 1342 for the travel dua. Where scholars debate a grading, the card names the collection only, so you can check it yourself.
Counts are kept in your browser on this device only, and they reset when you clear the page data. Nothing is sent to any server.
The full morning and evening set lives on the companion daily adhkar page, which has its own tap counters for the 100-count dhikrs. This page keeps two items from that set, Sayyid al-Istighfar and the morning and evening remembrances, for readers who arrive here first.
Yes, while you are learning. The transliteration is a reading aid, not a replacement: the Arabic is the text itself, and learning to read it is worth the effort. The transliteration here follows common English spelling of the Arabic sounds.
