About the PDF Compressor Tool

Welcome to Cubbbix's PDF Compressor, a secure and efficient tool designed to reduce file sizes without compromising document integrity. Whether you are sending a portfolio via email, uploading tax documents to a government portal, or archiving digitally, handling large PDFs can be a frustration.

Our tool leverages industry-standard Ghostscript technology on the backend to re-process your PDF streams. This technique smartly downsamples high-resolution images and strips redundancy, resulting in significantly smaller files that look virtually identical on screen.

Understanding the Compression Levels

We offer three distinct modes tailored to your specific needs:

  • Extreme (Screen / 72dpi)

This aggressive mode converts images to 72 dots per inch (dpi). It yields the smallest possible file size, making it perfect for specific use cases like quick email attachments or viewing on mobile phones. Text remains sharp, but images may look pixelated when printed.

  • Recommended (eBook / 150dpi)

The default choice for 90% of users. It balances size reduction with visual fidelity. Images are downsampled to 150dpi, which is crisp enough for virtually all screens and standard home printing. It significantly cuts file weight while keeping your document professional.

  • Less (Printer / 300dpi)

Select this if you intend to send the document to a professional print shop. It maintains high-resolution images (300dpi) while still applying lossless optimizations to the PDF structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to upload confidential documents?

Security is our priority. Your file is uploaded via a secure connection (HTTPS) to our server for processing and is automatically deleted immediately after the compression is complete. We do not store, view, or backup your files. The download link is valid for your session only.

Why did my file size not decrease?

Compression works by optimizing images and fonts. If your PDF is already text-only or previously compressed, there may be little room for further reduction. Try the "Extreme" setting if you need drastic results.

Does this work on Scanned PDFs?

Yes! Scanned PDFs are essentially collections of large images. Our tool is highly effective at reducing the size of scanned documents by optimizing those images.

Are there file size limits?

We currently support files up to 100MB. This covers most eBooks, reports, and scanned documents.
