Saudi National Address Checker

Paste a National Address short code (four letters + four digits, like RAGI2929) to check its format, see what each part means, and catch the mistakes that get parcels held up.

Format check only. A passing result means the code is well-formed, not that SPL issued it. Only Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty or the SPL app can confirm a real registered code. Confirm there before shipping.

Four letters followed by four digits; a space or dash between them is fine. Load a sample code to see a passing check (format sample, not a real address).

The 8-character code, piece by piece

Every building in Saudi Arabia has a National Address registered with Saudi Post (SPL): building number, street, district, city, a 5-digit postal code and a secondary number. The short address is the compact alias for that whole record: four letters, then four digits. The digits are the 4-digit building number. The letters encode the location hierarchy: region code, branch code, division code, then a unique identifier. It fits on a form field, on a label, and in memory far better than the full address.

Because the letters are an internal coding and SPL does not publish the letter tables, nobody can decode a region from them by hand, and you should not try: copying your code exactly as it appears in Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty or the SPL app is the only safe move. Logistics guides report that couriers in the Kingdom require a valid short address on parcels from 1 January 2026. This checker verifies that a code has the right shape and flags the mistakes that get parcels rejected: short building numbers, swapped halves, Arabic-Indic digits, and the letter O where a zero belongs.

Checked, one part at a time

The tool checks the total length, that the first four characters are letters and the last four are digits, and scans for lookalike characters. Each position is shown with what it is supposed to be, so a failure points at the exact character.

Passing is not proof of registration

A code can be perfectly formed and still not exist in SPL's records. Format validity stops your label being rejected for a typo; it does not confirm delivery. Always verify the code in an official channel before shipping.

How to check your code

  1. Paste the code from your Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty or SPL app record, or from your building's green plaque.
  2. Run the check: the tool validates the 4-letter + 4-digit shape and shows each position.
  3. Fix any flagged character (usually a short building number or an Arabic-Indic digit).
  4. Confirm the final code in the official app before putting it on the parcel.

Frequently Asked Questions

A compact version of your Saudi National Address issued by Saudi Post (SPL): 8 characters, four letters followed by four digits, for example RAGI2929. The four digits are the building number; the letters encode the region, branch, division and a unique identifier. It pinpoints the exact building, so couriers accept it in place of the full written address.
It is shown in Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty and the SPL Online portal or app, and it is printed on the green National Address plaque fixed at your building entrance. If you do not know yours, those official channels are the only correct source.
Logistics guides report that couriers in the Kingdom require a valid short address on parcels from 1 January 2026, and parcels without one risk delays or rejection. This is reported by industry guides, not verified from an SPL announcement on this page, so confirm the current rule with SPL or your courier if it matters.
No. This checker validates the format only: four letters, four digits, in the right order. It cannot look up whether SPL actually issued the code. A well-formed code can still be wrong. Confirm the real code in Absher, Tawakkalna or the SPL app before putting it on a shipment.
The usual causes: a building number with fewer than four digits (it must be exactly four, e.g. 0231), letters and digits in the wrong halves, Arabic-Indic digits (٠١٢٣) typed on an Arabic keyboard, extra spaces, or a letter O where a digit 0 belongs. This checker points at exactly which part failed.
Yes. The full National Address (building number, street, district, city, 5-digit postal code plus secondary number) is the underlying official record; the short code is a compact alias for the same building. Use whichever the form or courier asks for, but use it exactly as registered.
Not words you can decode by hand. SPL does not publish the letter tables: the first three letters encode the region, branch and division, and the fourth is a unique identifier. Do not guess a region from the letters; this checker describes each position without pretending to decode it.
