What does this tool check?
It connects to the domain over TLS and reads the live SSL certificate: the issuing authority, the valid-from and expiry dates, and whether the certificate is currently valid.
Why does the check run on your server?
A certificate can only be read by connecting to the site's server, which browsers do not allow a web page to do directly. Our server makes the connection for you and returns the results.
What happens if a certificate expires?
Visitors see a full-page security warning and most will leave. Renew the certificate with your provider or CA immediately — automated renewal with short-lived certificates prevents this.
Can I check subdomains?
Yes. Enter the full subdomain, like shop.example.com — each subdomain can have its own certificate with its own expiry date.
